Machias Community Christmas Planning Meeting

MACHIAS, Maine – The entire community is coming together again to plan for Machias’s annual Community Christmas event. This includes the nighttime, lighted parade, a visit by Santa, arts and crafts for children, a voice contest, community Christmas tree lighting and caroling.

Last year more than a dozen businesses and more than two dozen individuals help plan and execute these events by each taking a small part. It was the first year the effort was opened up to the community and it was a wonderful success.

This is a true COMMUNITY based event with townspeople taking charge!

The first organizational meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, October 26, at the Machias Chamber of Commerce office in Station 1898, the vintage train station across from Helen’s Restaurant. Any person, business, church, club or agency that wishes to be involved, please send a representative to the meeting.
